Who Is To Blame For Hurricane Katrina?
During and after Hurricane Katrina, there had been much accusations on who was to blame for the destruction for the thousands of people dead and the destruction of their city. The main country had been the United Sates. This statement can be proven in many ways, such as the fact that they didn't pay any attention to the situation during the Bush presidency and had waited several days until they had taken any kind of action. During those several days people were still dying and were left in poverty, trying to recover after what they had lost. It can be portrayed that they had showed little interest in trying to solve the situation. One example that is very important is the fact that the levee had broken. If they had started building it due to Hurricane Betsy, why hadn't they been able to perfect it to withstand powerful hurricanes? They were deliberately wasting people's time through all the lying and unjust actions they had taken, which would soon turn to consequences. Additionally, it is shown how one of the ways New Orleans had been spoken negatively about was through "Fog of War." This can be explained by how as news started spreading nationwide, soon, this information would be twisted until it formed many rumors that had been explaining New Orleans in a negative way. One of these negative impacts was the rumor of people staring to rape babies. These rumors began to change many of the civilians attitude due to the fact that they had the belief that due to this hurricane, it would tear up an entire community to the point to where it will never come back and recover. One of the things that should've changed in order to bring a solution was decreasing the issues with the government. The head of FEMA, Michael Brown should've taken initiative as well as the head of the Department of Homeland Security. One of the many actions that would've been taken was helping the community during and after this horrific tragedy in order to be able to last and cope with the water causing much damage. They shouldn't have waited that long in order to make a change. Due to the actions the United States had taken, it had put one of their cities in one of the most devastating situations ever. It can show how this country doesn't give any care for the people, rather in getting their power and not giving an amount of money in order to show an effort in order to save our people and help our city come through this hurricane. It can show through their effort in this and in many things the kind of people they are.
Hurricane Katrina and The Underlying Situations.
Hurricane Katrina had caused much change into the lives of everybody in New Orleans. Destruction is a key word to what Hurricane Katrina had meant to the world. Many of the factors had that were involved during the hurricane had not only been environment. One of these parts was religion throughout the entire hurricane. During the video, we are found seeing many of the citizens on their knees, either families or individuals praying to god. In this case religion plays pivotal roles during many natural disasters due to the fact that many of the civilians leave all their hope in their god, showing them the religion they pertain to and the kind of person they are. Additionally, race is believed to have much more involved. During the aftermath of the hurricane, helicopters were flying by daily and the citizens that were in need of help were left there and it is believed that those citizens that are in poor class were abandoned while the rich class civilians were saved. If this case had been true, then much of the blame for lost lives had been for these helicopters that for the time being only cared in race and inequity rather than justice and equality. This shows how many of the factors for many left people destroyed was not only the environment, yet injustice actions taken from our society which portrays them as evidence towards our not perfect world of racism and inequity.
Hurricane Katrina and The Beginning
I believe that one of the most devastating disasters in the United States had been Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The people dead in New Orleans had been 100,000 civilians. This hurricane also hit Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Before it was in affect, it was classified in being a category 5 hurricane, when in reality, it was a category 3. It was a major fact since due to the belief of category 5, the governor issued a mandatory evacuation for the people of New Orleans, although there had been some people that had stayed and decided to endure it. One of the questions that can be asked through the film is "How did the environment affect the people before the hurricane? During? After?" The answer can be stated that before, in 1965, there was Hurricane Betsy, with almost the same amount of capacity, so most citizens believed if they were able to survive that hurricane, they would be able to withstand this storm. It began in the Gulf of Mexico, and hit New Orleans August 26, 2005. The storm itself began at 2:30 A.M., with all streets deserted. What had been a major affect which brought on much disaster to the city was that even though the storm itself went east and passed New Orleans, the levees built in New Orleans had collapsed. One of the important things that should be noted in this situation was that New Orleans was built 6 feet under sea level, so the only thing that prevented any water to enter was these levees, but in this case they had not been properly built by the government, they had broken and the actual destruction and deceased lives was caused by the large amount of water entering, not the hurricane since it somehow passed and turned east. During the time while the hurricane lasted, the majority of the the city was flooded and many of the citizens that had stayed there had the disadvantage of having their homes flooded, until they had nowhere else to go except to face their deaths. This had lasted for some time until the water had stopped entering and helicopters soon filled in the levees. After this, we find many bodies in homes, and the living people on the streets with nothing, and the rest trapped in the rain or struggling to survive. An additional question that can be made through the negative outcome of this hurricane is "In what ways might Katrina permanently change people's relationship with the environment?" This answer can be responded in the way people were devastated through the trail of destruction Katrina brought, and not only were afraid and sympathetic, but careful on how the environment they live in is going to be, since their major fear is mother nature. It changes how many civilians live their lives since the environment can leave a person with nothing left in their lives, and their relationship can be expressed in a negative way. The people on the gulf coast had been affected through major damage in their lives both physically and mentally. It had left each and everyone of their societies torn apart and a loss of hope of ever coming back from this major obstacle.

Epoch 4
Lastly, we are given Epoch 4, which can be signified in one question. " How does the economy affect society?" This can be recognized by during the Cold War, where the US and the USSR competed in an arms race to determine global supremacy. They built an immense amount of missiles in order to prove they had more power, no matter what cost. Just launching those nuclear weapons meant the end of the world as we know it. The solution had taken much time to solve, until in 1991, when the Soviet Union had fallen. The cause for this cold war had been World War 2. Each country that had been involved had just came out of their own depression, which changed each country in a negative way. having the war would be having glory. In Germany, Nazism increased due to their leader, Adolf Hitler. He had them believe they should conquer what was theirs after what happened in World War 1. After gaining most of Europe, they were close in conquering the world because of Hitlers influence, with the belief of an Aryan race. they had almost vanished the whole Jewish race with their belief of anti semitism, having a great impact in history. Additionally, Japan had came out of the depression with their new leader, Hirohito, and began with conquering most of Asia, sharing Germany's belief in domination. Additionally, Benito Mussolini became leader in Italy, expressing fascism, and with that was able to create a large empire, and an alliance with Germany and Japan, known as the Axis Powers. Economy left countries only in need of conquering and gaining power, just like the USA desired in both of these wars.
The After math of an Epoch
The second epoch, means significance due to the fact of what happened in the first epoch. One of the questions we could wonder is "How does technology affect society"? This question can be responded by saying technology affects the whole world just by being advanced. In this case, during this time period, technology had everything to do with how society was going to be shaped later on. For example, in Asia, gun powder had been developed which would revolutionize war fare worldwide forever. Next, printing press would help the way people would make books in order to get a education. Additionally, new technologies meant extensive training through the Silk Roads, where the same amount of goods were shared as much as their cultures were, and influenced many religions in each civilization. This leads up to my second question " How does religion affect society"? The reason this is important is due to the fact that many civilizations had distinct religions and cultures, signifying each empire they have. New religions had thrived such as Islam grew in the middle east under the guidance of Muhammad. There had also been disagreements in Europe in whether to follow Christianity or Islam, leading up to disputes known as the crusades, which was against muslims. The last question, "How does a society decide which aspect of their culture they wanna specialize?" The answer to the question can be known as how they rule their empire. An example is in Greece, is how they became experts through their people in philosophy and science, which follows up all the way until this time period.
The Beginning of Epochs
Many questions surround what became of the beginning of time, of when this epoch had firstly been recorded. Numerous of these questions would also more likely focus on the development of something new, or of the catalyst of when 2 things come together or don't interact. In my case, we've been studying Epoch 1, and the beginnings of this examples, start with the beginning of governmental structure, which had much impact as well as many factors involving culture, religion, and land region. One of them had been "How do people survive"? During this time period, i can say that nothing had been developed during the beginning of time, meaning all that society had to focus on was to survive. An example that had been used is the hunter-gatherer societies. In this case all humans had done is find food, without settling into specific regions. Most of these groups had been classified as nomadic groups. It wasn't until later in time that as they settled did societies began to grow and flourish into large and memorable empires in all of history for their influence. Additionally, a question referred to how this Epoch is significant is "How do societies form their belief"? In my opinion, I believe that much of the societies that form their beliefs are often influenced by other countries. During this Epoch, as many societies began to grow in Egypt, China, and the middle east, the smaller societies around these empires began to interact with each other, thus creating International Relations. As this continued for centuries, it was a fact that each and every individual involved in trade had been deeply affected by each other due to the fact they took a bit of each new culture and began to apply it to their lives. This continued, making many cultures evolve and continue up to this day, such as Christianity or Judaism, originating from the Jews. Also, In Mesopotamia beliefs formed were created into the first written forms of law. Their leader, Hammurabi created a code of laws known as the Hammurabi code, bringing order and creating a monarchy. Lastly, "How does location affect society"? This is able to come into action for some examples. One of them had been how Mesopotamian land wasn't good, yet was located between 2 rivers. all in all, we can say that location can also affect the struggle a society may have i order to survive, depending on location and the resources they have. It may also have affect on how their empire is built up and the way they can conquer.

Epoch of Interactions
This epoch lasting from 1400-1920 signifies How Europe began to interact with the Americas and Africa. It can be remembered since When Europeans came to America, They came to conquer and killed innocent Native Americans not just because of injustice, yet of diseases they carried. The evil thing done by these Europeans is how they mistreated the Natives and enslaved them, just as they did with the Africans. As time passed Trade increased until more Europeans came to settle, and if they wouldn't have done this, it meant that there wouldn't have been much done in the USA by the English. Yet now that they were here they brought much to be remembered, like the American Revolution.Additionally, in France, there was a revolution leading it to fall to dictator Napoleon Bonaparte. Throughout the 1800's, South American Natives were held captive by the Spanish as well as Africa was, showing the unfairness and the low status they were given, despite the achievements they've done. Later on, Industrialization advancements in many aspects such as transportation. Soon a huge change to the world had been WW1, between US, Britain, Germany, Ottoman Empire, Russia, and Austria Hungary. Fighting occured until someone gained power. However, it did changed political views of Russia, since in 1817, there a was a revolution led by the Bolsheviks, and their leader Vladimir Lenin. It is significant since due to the War it changed life completely and soon led to communism. In the end, it affected millions due to destruction and the power seeked there by the USA. Due to the outcome, it'll show how 20 years after a new War would destroy all for the reason of this first World War.
An Epoch of Advancement
During the time period of 500 B.C. -1492 B.C., major advancements was what formed much progress throughout this time period, and soon to come in the future. An example is how the steps to progress lead to a democratic government, in which to this day, we follow. During this time, the Greek civilization had reached the top of their time period due to the achievements they had done. Due to people like Socrates, their pivotal role in the Greek society where philosophy and science was prominent made their study advanced. Due to people like him many debates lasted on philosophy. But without a doubt most of his discoveries in the fields he studied and progressed marks a basis in which we started to comprehend his methods. Additionally, war had crept out through many opposing beliefs we still feel today, military rule vs. democratic rule. in this case 2 Greek cities, Sparta, which was militaristic, faced Athens, Democrats. However, in the end Sparta marked a victory and a new empire was formed, lead by Alexander the Great. Soon after all of this, Greece had collapsed. Soon, towards the west came the victorious Roman empire. Through their power, they had the right to take control of most of the Mediterranean world. After time the Romans gained the power to conquer territory that was made of Jew's. Most of the Roman empire was from Great Britain to Iraq. Some of the main effects it had to affect us today is there is distinct religions, politics, and economics. Much of progress is shown in Asia, where they would collectively trade west along the Silk road. Trade would soon help the rest of history due to the amount of trade and trades taken and to gain more knowledge internationally. Additionally, China had progressed since gun powder was invented, in which was a help in later time for many explorers to have guns and soon which can be used during war and murder. A religion Asia followed had been Buddhism, though many governments and militaries says it has less influence. it represented religion just like Islam did, under guidance of Muhammad. It shows how religion had a major role since it is what we worship today and how it's changed but followed throut the years. Even though all these things meant advancemetn, there was also the Black death, which killed many people around Europe, which was history for how it spreaded and how almost all populationin Europe would've vanished, and how now its different since some managed o live.
Epoch of Origins
Throughout 5000 B.C.-500 B.C, the world as we knew it had started as new civilizations had formed and the habit known as hunting and gathering had vanished. Known as the Neolithic Age, advancements began to spread upon distinct places in our world, where from law, to religion, to the environment, these concerns in this time period are known as a basis to the improvement and spreading of ideas as the world we know today. How we managed to actually improve the lives of all our world for a positive effect or negative effect lies in the work and minds of numerous countries, specifically people and their own cultures and beliefs of right and wrong. During this time period, we're shown how one of the most prestigious civilizations began in Mesopotamia, where not only they had developed agricultural methods, yet developed many societies and had their first monarchy or established government, which was in the Babylonian empire, called Hammurabi. Only to be inferred, without establishing these set of laws, or codes, numerous great empires coming generation after generation wouldn't have been able to follow Hammurabi's laws even until this day. I believe the significance was that it was a start that humans took in getting organized and having a successful government, meaning that during that period, many civilizations had grown a significant amount of intelligence making them capable of accomplishing many things that are known as history. Some of the things they may have already established is violence due to the fact that these societies sought to conquer each other's land in order to gain power. It is known worldwide that today, countries and their leaders still seek the power they want in order to be unstoppable. Law and government was not only in Mesopotamia, because many flourishing countries later on, soon to have larger empires, adopted these laws such as Egypt, China and additional European countries to come. Soon they began to interact with each other, establishing what was known as international relations, which is a basis for local trade of distinct European countries worldwide. What i can say is significant during this time is how many different religions began, such as Judaism and how it spreaded throughout Europe since the Jews scattered. More importantly, knowledge grows through Egyptians since their phenomenal tool of learning is what impresses people to this day. Hieroglyphics is understood today and was their common way of writing. I think this was a key in which many cultures and countries learned in order to find their own way of handwriting. They were the first people in showing how they would enslave prisoners, in this case the Jews. I believe this was an influence so later in time many travelers would enslave people, beginning with the African Americans. Not only that, but the way and technique they used to build pyramids shows what they were capable of and managed to do what other empires couldn't do during that time. After what Egyptians accomplished, came dynasties around China. One example was known as the Zhou Dynasty, and their influence with 2 distinct philosophies. Greece later rose and followed the religion of Egypt, which was polytheistic, and began to conquer at a major pace territory under the rule of Alexander and increased their empire.

History And The Past
Personally, I believe that history may differ from the past due to the fact that History can occur everyday. The past can be described as history but something that will entirely fade as the time goes by since it only happened once and will be remembered as it was. History, on the the other hand, can be perceived as distinct actions that change the world we live around for the good and the bad outcome. Both however, may be taken as actions made by us human beings, that may seek love, greed, power, or jealousy which change others lives for something entirely distinct. I know that history was made when World War 2 occurred, and how technology evolved through weapons and the lives that were lost were immense, and the main reason had been Hitler's idea of bringing a better life to the world through his idea of anti-semetism, and killing millions of jews in numerous ways. Additionally, History was made through the cold war between USA and the Soviet Union when the number of war heads increased immensely on both sides and there had been a chance of total destruction. Both had been searching for being the Powerful Country in the world. I can say that this was history, however, as time passes and history can be made many more times, these event become part of the past. History can be described as never ending through our actions and minds, both good and evil that can change our lives. Though I still have to say that some things that happen in the past can still not change what we do and think, such as the USA. Through the beginning, it's clear that they search for World Power no matter what cost. Until now, they are the world power and through their actions in history describes the kind of people they are and represent- PACO
